Vientiane Morning Market
We got off the bus from Vientiane and came out onto the main road near the southern bus stop in Vientiane. Taxi drivers tried to help us at several places on the way out. We refused them. When we finally got to the road, there was a brand new electric car as a taxi. They charged us fifty thousand more. When we checked the price on the app, it was even less. We found out the price on the taxi app and walked around a bit to find a suitable place to eat.
Then we saw that there was a Vientiane Morning Market right next to it. Although it was called Morning Market, it was just a place like a weekly market in our rivers. I don't know if it's always there. People in this country eat a lot of meat. About a quarter of the markets sell meat. Pork and chicken are the most common. There was fish. I didn't see much fish. Being a landlocked country, there must have been a shortage of fresh fish. Some freshwater fish were directly put in pots on the mainland and left out of the water. We would have been wrapped after we ordered the fish we wanted. If that happened, we could eat fresh fish directly, although it would have been a bit more expensive.
Where are the lizards and cockroaches?
In Thailand, cockroaches and scorpions are now rarely seen in the regular markets where Thai people eat and drink. Similarly, in Vientiane, the capital of Laos, we would have seen fewer foreign meats such as cockroaches, legs, etc. But in areas like Boten, which is close to the Chinese border, I saw on YouTube videos that even banned meats like pork and pork ribs are available in those morning markets.
Here he is surprised to see the market
Yes, it is a bit magical for us. Even though there are no refrigerators outside the meat stalls in these morning markets, there is no such smell. I don't know if they clean it well or if there is a separate cleaning method. The vegetables and fruits are just like ours. There were some fruits and vegetables that we didn't know much about. Since we look Indian, we don't have the same problems as the white people. I think even the white people don't care much about the Lao people.
So we bought some cheap grapes from there and left for an area with more hotels. We saw that the hostel was cheap near the city center and the central bus stop. We looked at that location and called an EV taxi. The EV guy was very kind and packed our bags and dropped them off at the place we asked.
